We produce custom, hand-crafted wood products that are eminently functional, uniquely beautiful and that will enrich their owners for generations.

Since all out pieces are custom, our first job is to listen carefully. We begin by asking lots of general questions regarding what you want the piece to do, how you want it to look, and where it will be used. We then ask more specific questions regarding architectural style elements, specific dimensions, preferred wood species, types of hardware, color, etc. While we tend to feature Shaker and American Arts & Crafts (Prairie) styles, we create pieces in a wide variety of styles and genres.

When we have all the basic information, we will provide a cost estimate. If you decide to continue, we will then create a computer assisted drawing to show you how your piece will look, depict all the elements, and illustrate the dimensions.

Once you commission us to build a piece for you, your piece is added to our production schedule. We work carefully, combining old-world craftsmanship with current technology. We use only the finest hardwoods and veneers, individually selected for color, grain and figure. We use primarily environmentally friendly water-borne stains and top coats to produce finishes that provide a tough protective top coat while enhancing the warmth, charm and special feel of the wood. All our finishes are hand-rubbed to whatever sheen level you prefer--from a flat no-shine finish to a deep mirror-like gloss that will give you vertigo if you gaze into it too intently for too long.
