About UsLocated in the NW corner of Indianapolis we live and work
among nature's greatest gifts. Our studio is nestled in a small forest, rich with a variety of
vegetation and wildlife.
It is with great reverence for our raw materials that we design and construct unique furnishings for your home and office furniture -- designs to last for generations. Founded in 1985, we are a family owned and operated woodworking shop, providing a wide range of services. From the beginning, we have been devoted to the CUSTOM CRAFTED approach to woodworking. We view each piece we work on, each client we work with as unique. We have no long production runs, no assembly lines throwing out dozens or hundreds of the exact same thing. We import nothing. We make furniture that is simple, durable, comfortable, functional and suited to the place it is to occupy and the work it has to do. All our furniture is custom-made, one-of-a-kind, designed specifically for each client. Therefore, we have no standard pieces and no standard prices. Each piece can be as big or small as you want, as decorative or plain as you want, as dark or light as you want, whatever species of wood you want. Prices are determined by the cost of materials and the amount of time it takes to build each piece. So often today, you pay a lot of money for furniture that has no character, is poorly made from inferior materials and is imported from some Asian country. Every piece we sell is built in our studio in Indianapolis, Indiana. It is built solidly, using the very best materials. Our finishes are durable and enhance the natural characteristics of the wood. We use as little metal (screw & nails) in constructing our furniture as possible. We prefer to use traditional wood joinery techniques (dovetails, mortise & tenons, dados, etc) because they are stronger and last longer than screws & nails. When we restore or refinish furniture, we try to reestablish the character produced by its creator and enhanced by age. We listen carefully to our clients to determine what they wish to accomplish, then assess the most cost-efficient way to fulfill that desire. We take great pride in saving old pieces that might be headed for the fireplace and in creating heirlooms of tomorrow. We try very hard NOT to waste your time or your money. Our job is not done until you are completely satisfied. |
